Dynamic Frequency Fitting 

Is our answer to a proper fitting for clubs. We have spent years developing a system that essentially allows a customer to find the correct shaft and head combination for there individual needs.  We have taken our years of experience with Golf Fitting and applied use. Combined that with comments from customers about what makes them comfortable with knowing they have the correct equipment. Taken the systems that equipment manufacturers use in there research and development and created a complete version of the OEM’s vastly abridged and inaccurate version of fitting sets to a practical application that can be described as the ultimate fitting set on steroids!



This has become our mission over the past 10 plus years to develop a system that is seemingly bullet proof and leaves nothing to a customers imagination, except the vision of being truly able to improve there game.



What sets our fitting system apart, the way it is built and designed. Using precise engineering specifications from each shaft we have in our set we developed a system that uses the exact shaft flex profile for each shaft in a dynamic and uniform system to walk a customer through the selection of the correct head and shaft combination for there game.


Our set not only has flex ratings for each shaft, it has flex ratings for each shaft type in 3 CPM increments, by shaft type and weight. With the ability to fit a customer for the specific torque and flex profile that performs best for them. We actually find your exact shaft loading profile for your swing. What works best for you, not just close, exact shaft loading profile. Through the development of our fitting set we can take you through all types of shafts, by shaft weight, torque and bend profile.


Whats a CPM, that would be the “Cycles Per Minute”  or the frequency the shaft oscillates at which determines its actual stiffness. Translation, the actual true stiffness of the shaft with force applied which affects the shafts unique dynamic performance. The same test criteria that every shaft manufacturer uses to determine the stiffness of the shafts they make.



By using this system we have set up our fitting set using our heaviest MB fitting head we are able to keep all shafts at a relative flex regardless if we are fitting you with lighter heads than the master head. How does that work?  Lets use our master head as an example, it is 263 grams, when we attach it onto a fitting shaft using our Faz-fit fitting system we can record the actual frequency of that shaft, with that head. For an example we will say that it oscillated at 300 CPM at 37 ½” in length. We record that on the shaft, the next shaft in the set from the same type of shaft and same Raw (uncut) length would be targeted to have a frequency of 303 CPM. SO we take the raw shaft and cut it to length to achieve that finished rating of 303 CPM.



We have done this throughout our entire fitting set, categorizing each shaft type and logging the actual frequency of the raw uncut shaft from the factory. Thus when we order a shaft, we can call and say we need 10 shafts for a set of irons, the original frequency of the fitting shaft was 274 CPM and the shaft companies we deal with will send us 10 shafts that are 274 CPM, one may be 275 or 273, but we have the target frequencies we need to produce a set of clubs that will dynamicly match the one we fit you for. Obviously there is a lot more to it than that, but we have the basis to build a set of clubs for you that will provide as close to a perfect match in flex profile as is possible. We will have to then match the flex slope for the individual but we have scientifically analyzed each shaft for its unique properties and have the capability to provide you with a true matching set of clubs using the FM Precision shaft flex profile that the top manufacturers use to produce there shafts.


What do we have that is so unique? We have the ability to let you try the exact head and shaft combination we intend to build for you and build your set to match exactly to the one we build you. 


Our approach to fitting is based upon years of research not done by us, but the golf industry themselves. Fathered from the research of Kim Braly , founder of KBS Shafts & his father DR. Joe Braly a professional engineer, developed in the 70’s.  Using there method, that is still used in all golf shaft Research and development performed TODAY in 2015 we can provide our customers a much more precise analysis of there swing and choose the correct shaft loading profile for them. 



Yes that’s correct all golf shaft industry research and development companies use the same system to design to develop dynamic shaft bend profile charactristics determining the shafts loading characteristics including flex potential and flex charactersitics  as we  use in our fitting system to determine our customers full shaft loading profile.



Ever hear shaft designers refer to the shafts Ei? Ei refers to a shafts bend profile and defines dynamic behavior of the shaft or how the shaft reacts to the loading force during the downward transitional force that is applied to it in your swing. The amount of energy applied to the entire shaft through each golfers individual ability  to apply the force to the shaft during the downward transition of his swing and the way the force is applied to the shaft and loading at the transition point. 



Each golfer has a unique swing which includes wrist cock motion and release combined with unique acceleration points creating individual and unique swing characteristics, this applies the force and creates the torque to propel the ball at the Moment of Impact. 


Thus demonstrating how that shaft reacts individually to the applied force and transfers that energy with direct force at the moment of impact to the golf ball. In engineering terms the actual Torque generated during the swing is the force that propels the Golf ball. Please understand that this explanation of torque is not what is referenced in a shafts specifications listing of torque, that is the actual rotational torque of that particular shaft under stress applied by the weight of the actual club head. 


How does this affect my clubs and why do you need to know the shafts characteristics to determine  what shaft I need? The big box store told me all they need to know is my swing speed and the launch monitor tells them the rest.


Johnny, they couldn’t be further from correct. Fitting based on swing speed alone is a recipe for disaster. That’s the difference between true custom fitting and buying a big box disaster story of your own!
